The Ria Beanie is a beginner friendly knitting pattern that uses simple knit, purl and slip sts. Slip sts are used on the brim for extra squishiness to a classic 1x1 ribbing. Pattern is written for 2 yarn weights and 3 sizes.

*US size 13/9mm, 16” circular needles for Malabrigo Caracol
*US size 11/8mm, 16” circular needles for Malabrigo Chunky
Adult:
9” tall x 8” wide (with brim folded); approximately 20-22” head circumference
Approximately 85 yards of Malabrigo Caracol / 100 yards of Malabrigo Chunky
Child 4-6 yrs old:
8” tall x 7.75” wide (with brim folded); approximately 18-19” head circumference
Approximately 75 yards of Malabrigo Caracol / 90 yards of Malabrigo Chunky
Toddler 2-3 yrs old:
7.75” tall x 7.5” wide (with brim folded); approximately 17-18” head circumference
Approximately 70 yards of Malabrigo Caracol / 85 yards of Malabrigo Chunky
It may be best to select size by head circumference, not necessarily by age.
